WAMTechnology is a Microsoft Certified Partner having successfully met the requirements for the Independent Software Vendor competency. WAMTechnology was established in 1995 and has been involved in developing technology solutions for 21 years. We are specialists in providing technology solutions to improve good governance and our key focus areas are Public Health and Water Information Systems.

Our clients include both private and public sectors, locally and internationally, such as PEPFAR / US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), South African National Department of Health (NDoH), Medical Research Council (MRC), University of Cape Town (UCT), Water Boards, Local Municipalities, Metropolitans, Department of Water Affairs & Sanitation (DWA&S) and other important role players.

We vigilantly serve our existing clients and collaborate on a project to project basis according to their needs, while always seeking for more areas where we can contribute to the needs of new clients. Although our key focus areas are public health and water information systems, WAMTech has over the past twenty one years been involved in many software projects related to other sectors as well, such as agriculture, property, energy and manufacturing.

Health Information System Experience

In 2003, WAMTechnology was commissioned by CDC to develop a new national electronic TB register (ETR.Net) in South Africa, which was rolled out in 2004. Then followed a new national DR-TB / XDR electronic register (EDRWeb) in 2009 and thereafter work commenced on a HIV eRegister in 2010. The HIV eRegister was expanded into a “Three Interlinked Electronic Register” called TIER.Net (HIV/TB//SDTs). The nation-wide roll-out and continued use of our developed TB/DR-TB/HIV Electronic Registers and other systems for the SA NDoH, WHO, CDC and UCT has provided us with a unique experience and capability of working in both urban and rural areas within our country and continent. The knowledge and technology WAMTechnology applies during information system development and implementation are not only applied for ‘audit-style’ assessment purposes, but is transferred as part of an ongoing knowledge sharing, skills and technology transferring exercise.
