Who We Are

The Formery is a union of creative thinkers and makers working in a place where intelligent understanding of behaviour sparks bold imagination. Our mission is to form profound bonds between businesses and people and we achieve this by concentrating on three core services. We help our clients define a purpose around who they are. We help them engage more effectively by crafting what they say. And we help them encourage participation by shaping how they act.

What We Do

In short, anything and everything. Our job is to provide our partners with a best-in-class technical platform from which to kickstart their e-commerce, brand, or activation effort. Whether it's a front-end redesign to improve product conversion rate, an Augmented-Reality app to help in-store consultants increase sales, or a best-in-class site build to help a gaming house find talent, we pride ourselves on delivering work that holds up against anything else out there.

Our Culture

We're a team of Makers and Doers. Because we offer a 360° marketing service to our partners, our development work doesn't exist in isolation. Our technical solutions come backed up by user-centric UX, infused with an understanding of Technical SEO, and only designed after data-driven audience research shows us what works. Everybody works with everybody, because we're better that way. Our Cape Town office (where you'll be based most of the time) is located in the Old Castle Brewery. With some beautiful views of Table Mountain, a fully stocked kitchen, and beer o' clock every Friday, we often find it easy to forget that we offer work from home flexibility!

Our Process

The Formery uses an iterative (or agile) Scrum-based approach on all it's projects. This allows for close collaboration with our partners, and delivery of work we can be proud of. You'll work closely with our BA's, PM's, and CTO, ensuring your workflow is manageable.

Hiring Process

Typically, we will run an Introductory Interview, a Technical Interview, and a Final Interview. Because of our regional spread, the majority of your Technical interview will be done over Skype, with a Face-to-Face Final interview to make sure we've got chemistry. We like to pull triggers, so don't be surprised if this process only takes between 7 and 10 days.
