We serve the public interest through regulating and supporting the actuarial profession in South Africa. This is done through the provision of a world class education to actuarial students, setting and maintaining professional practice standards for actuaries, advancing actuarial skills and knowledge in both current and wider fields of actuarial practice, being an objective voice engaging decision makers on the public good in areas of policy making where actuaries can contribute, and creating opportunities for actuaries to work locally and abroad.

We are a small team of about 25 on staff with a further 300 members in our volunteer community that supports operational delivery. With this being a new role, you have the opportunity to shape-it-and-make-it-your-own. You will have access to a wide network of quality stakeholders to support you in implementing this capability with an audacious goal to modernize our technology over the next 3 years.

Our solutions are generally bespoke with all application development outsourced to third party vendors. We leverage from open-source or commercially feasible bolt-on solutions where this makes sense. You will be required to gain an in-depth understanding of the business requirements and to provide these business specifications to the outsourced vendors ensuring timeous and tested delivery. Stakeholder engagement at a senior level is important to evaluate pragmatic solutions and be resourceful in the choices we make in consultation with our vendors.

Your interview will be with a panel that will include the reporting line manager (Maryvonne Palanduz) and a technical lead (Linda van Vuren) on the domain of business analysis. In additional to these two portfolios the executive of member engagement (Michelle Abrahams) has an open invitation to the interview since your will be working closely with our front line servicing staff. Should you reach the final selection stage in our hiring process, we will require you to complete a psychometric assessment that compliments the interview process in assisting us with the final selection for this role.
