Summary

What we do

TFN is a fintech fuel-logistics platform serving Southern Africa's transport industry. Since 2007 we have helped transporters, fleet operators and logistics businesses control how fuel is bought, dispensed, managed and paid for, bringing fuel management, payments and fleet data together in one integrated platform. We build and own our software end to end.

Why work for us

We are a company of around 50 people with the reach of a national platform, and right now we are rebuilding our proven legacy solutions into a modern, modular platform. That means real architecture and greenfield engineering work on a business with real customers, transaction volumes and revenue, not a prototype. Engineers here get a wide brief, direct access to the people making decisions, and see their work land in production quickly. We contribute to medical aid and pension, and we invest in learning through training budgets and conferences.

Our culture

TFN runs on trust, collaboration and getting things done without unnecessary ceremony. Because we are a small team, ownership matters: people are expected to understand the business problem behind the ticket and to speak up when something could be done better. We favour open communication and pragmatism over process for its own sake.

Our engineering process

Our platform is built on .NET/C# services with React and React Native front-ends, exposed through RESTful and GraphQL APIs and backed by MS SQL/Azure SQL, PostgreSQL and BigQuery for analytics. We work in Azure DevOps for source control, boards and CI/CD pipelines, use Grafana and Loki for observability, and Payload CMS for content. The rebuild is modular by design, with clearly bounded services and well-defined contracts. We are serious about AI-assisted engineering: Claude Code and the Gemini Developer APIs are part of our everyday toolkit, and we are actively building agentic developer flows into how we ship. Architecture decisions are written down, reviewed and owned by the team.

Our hiring process

We keep hiring simple and respectful of your time. It usually starts with an introductory conversation to see whether there is a mutual fit, followed by a technical discussion with the engineering team about the real problems we are solving, and a final conversation with leadership. We are looking for engineers who care about their craft, want to understand the business they are building for, and are excited to help shape a platform from the ground up.
