We're a tight-knit team of 7 revolutionising how micro-businesses and entrepreneurs handle their everyday hustle. stub was born out of a realisation that existing tools don't cut it for small businesses, leading many of them to fail. We’re building an accounting & insights platform for entrepreneurs. We know that accounting doesn’t sound very exciting, but we promise you, it is — it’s the unsung hero of the modern world.

Here at stub we have one mission: to give small businesses the edge. We give them the edge by arming them with sharp, sophisticated, and dependable software tools. Tools worthy of a brave pioneer exploring the final frontier.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for a Front-end Design Engineer to work closely with us, the founders of stub, to craft and deliver beautiful and intuitive experiences. We’re a highly technical team focused on building a truly remarkable product for our customers.

In this role you will…

• design and prototype user interfaces
• build production-ready front-ends in Vue with Nuxt.js
• manage, extend and expand our Vue design systems
• debug customer issues
• contribute to our front-end build and test pipelines
• contribute to and bring our product vision to life
• work to build the stub brand
• run your own business (doing whatever you like)

You probably have some questions, eh?

I don’t know Vue or Nuxt, should I still apply? Has not knowing stopped you before? We’re big believers in a growth mindset and life-long learning. Frameworks come and go, so as long as you know what’s fundamentally going on with JS, HTML and CSS, do you think that you could learn?

Do I need to have experience in financial services? Nope. But are you curious about what happens when you credit an expense account?

I don’t want to talk to customers. Can I still apply? Nope.

What is your work from home policy? We’re building a global company. It's not 2018. We're fully remote (with preference given to candidates in SA right now).
