Summary

What we do

ShipShape is a leading and well-established (35 years) software development company in the Logistics Industry with its primary clients being freight forwarders and clearing agents. Because we operate in a niche business-to-business market, you may not have heard of ShipShape but our solid reputation in the market and large customer base (+/- 400 hundred firms using our software across Southern Africa)

The product itself can be described as an ERP system for the Logistics Industry covering a diverse range of functionality and features in a single platform. It is a vast product covering all aspects of shipment management from initial order through to international transport, Customs clearance, local warehousing and distribution, financial management and much more.

A strong focus emerged in recent years on data exchange, automation and integration – and our robust internally-developed middleware plays an important role in this space, and is an area where we continue to innovate and invest in.

Why Work For Us

ShipShape has embarked on a large-scale project to redesign its current Windows-based product from the ground up. This includes a complete re-design of the underlying data model as well as a new Web Application Architecture for the Cloud.

With our wealth of experience in this industry (and software development) our goal is to deliver a state-of-the-art product that can compete with the best in the international market.

The technologies that are being used includes, but is not limited to:
• Angular & TypeScript
• C#
• GraphQL
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Microsoft Azure DevOps

The successful candidates will join an existing and growing team of developers to design and implement the next generation “ShipShape Cloud” product using an Agile software development process.

As a member of the Development team this person will report to the Systems Architect & Development Manager.

Our Culture

ShipShape offers a pleasant, stable and productive working environment with opportunities for growth, regular and favorable incentive rewards and a healthy work / life balance where overtime is neither the norm nor required, unless exceptional circumstances dictate otherwise.

The work culture is one of mutual respect where all employees are expected to collaborate constructively in a team environment with open communication and clear objectives.

Flexible / remote working hours with core availability between 08h00 – 16h00 (or at least a 4 our overlap if not in Central Africa Time zone).
