ScannerVision is a product that has been on the international and local markets for over 10 years. It is a continuously evolving product with new and exciting development work happening daily. It forms part of a larger basket of products that include Windows Desktop applications, mobile applications, a Document Management System as well as several websites and web applications running on multi-functional devices such as Kyocera, FujuXerox, Ricoh, HP and Canon - all of which are developed inhouse.
The development team in South Africa is responsible for the development of the core products in the basket such as the DocVolante DMS and ScannerVision Server. We also have a development team Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia who is responsible for the mobile and MFP client development.
ScannerVision offers a relaxed environment that has been designed with developers in mind. Developers are encouraged to work in the areas they enjoy and want to grow in, and we provide them with the best tools and hardware to do their job. We also reward those developers who advance their skills by obtaining certifications and passing exams.
The Covid pandemic has changed the whole world, including us! Our developers all work from home now but this is not required. If you feel you can perform better in a formal office, you are welcome to go work in the office.
You also have the opportunity to go and work in our KL office for a while if you want to do some exploring. Once travel restrictions are lifted of course!
We try to remove every obstacle that could stand in the way of a developer and their work performance and career. We have always expected our developers to be independent, but it is now essential with all of them working from home - no micro-management here!
Our engineering process is determined by the need of our customers while we follow best practices and principles.
First you will do a screening interview where we assess your basic programming skills and problem-solving abilities. Pass this round and you will be invited for a second interview where we discuss a broad range of topics. A successful 2nd interview could result in a job offer. If you are a senior developer, a third interview may be required with top management.
