We are excited to share that ExploreAI has joined forces with Sand Technologies to advance our collective vision of leveraging AI to build a better world. Working together as Sand Technologies, we will accelerate AI and digital transformation for companies and governments all over the world.

Sand Technologies is a global, cutting-edge consultancy. We are proud of our domain expertise in the utilities, insurance, healthcare, and telecommunications industries. We have hubs all over Africa and provide consulting services to clients in the UK, the US, the Nordics, and South Africa. We believe that people with the right attitude and aptitude can change the world, and that’s what we’re set on doing.

On the other side of the business, we have an amazing tech academy called ALX. We teach hundreds of thousands of students a year about important tech skills and help them enter into the job market confident in their capabilities. We specialise in teaching Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering and other essential tech verticals, and rely on our consultancy business to ensure our curriculum is updated and relevant.

If you don’t work on the consulting side, you’ll work in our Academy to help craft, deliver, or market our tech courses to hundreds of thousands of deserving young people each year. There is nobody tracking your leave, and as long as you get your work done (and there’ll be lots of it!) you can work whenever and from wherever you like.

Our hiring process

  1. An initial intro chat with one of the team to chat through your CV and experience, and what we do at Sand. This session will assess your technical fit as well as your cultural fit within the business.
  2. A dedicated technical session where we assess your skills and experience.
  3. If you blew us away in sessions 1 and 2, you will be invited to a Bar Raiser interview where a final assessment will be made on overall fit in the business and the role.
  4. If it's an obvious fit, an offer is sent your way!
  5. Should we find you not to be suitable for the division or role you applied for, we will first consider you for open positions in other areas before indicating that your application is unsuccessful.

Our engineering environment

  • Sand Technologies develops cloud-native AI digital twin ecosystems across both AWS and Azure. The data-intensive AI solutions we’ve created have won multiple awards in the UK, and are deployed across the UK, the US, and South Africa.
  • Whilst we prefer learning and using the best tools for the job at hand, our workhorse languages are mostly Python, typescript, and javascript with React on our very visual and dynamic front ends. We use Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Snowflake as big components in our data architecture.
