Since they are often no hoteliers, marketers, digital or IT geeks, they can't cope and as a result remain on pen & paper, excel or Outlook to manage their business. They have become dependent on a very few either traditional and no longer sustainable (i.e. Thomas Cook Retail-Wholesale-DMC) or market-dominant digital (i.e. booking.com) value chains and give away 60% to 80% of their profits plus the customer ownership.
