Quintessence is a dynamic, young business providing software to the Asset Management industry. Our mission is to optimise the work of investment managers and researchers. We match powerful technology with expert customer service, and our clients include many of the top players in this field in South Africa (Investec, Coronation, Sanlam and Liberty to name a few). We have recently expanded to the UK where we are growing our international client base.

Quintessence is the brainchild of a company called FofX Software Development, founded in 2004 by investment managers and software engineers. Quintessence originated from the potent synthesis of their experience and expertise in both finance and technology sectors.

Quintessence is designed to provide customised solutions that enhance and fine-tune asset managers' research and reporting processes. Our flagship product is a decision support system and fundamental investment management platform.

Our skilled team of data engineers, software developers, and financial and mathematical experts is constantly striving to improve, innovate and expand. We are looking for talented and motivated people to join our energetic team.

Our hiring process:

The CVs are reviewed, and if your skills are a good fit, we’ll ask you to write a test. The test is dependent on the position being applied for – no prep is required. If the test goes well, there will be some interviews with the leader of the team, some colleagues, and the directors. It’s all pretty straightforward and transparent.
