About us

Provar is a small and fast-growing business, based in the beautiful Paarl region, developing web and mobile applications with the goal of optimising & automating the process of quantifying and rating crop and fruit characteristics of newly bred and commercially produced fruit cultivars. Our software products are web (Angular, Laravel, MySQL) and mobile (Native Android, React Native) based. Mobile applications, with offline capability, are being developed to ease the process of collecting plant and harvest sample data in the field and in the laboratory. Web applications process the collected data along with data from sensors and laboratory equipment to provide real-time reports, enabling sound decision making and thereby minimising the risk of planting commercially non-viable cultivars. Our hiring process

With our first interview, you will mainly be in conversation with our Chief Technology Officer, Cobus, and the owner and CEO of the company, Iwan. This will be an introductory discussion to get to know you and provides us with the opportunity to present our mission, software products and planned projects here at Provar. We will also enquire about your work history, previous projects, education and hobbies to get a gauge of your experience level and interests.

After your first interview, we will perform an informal technical evaluation and ask you to present and demonstrate some of your previous projects and work.
