Due to our expansion we are moving to a shiny new office in December 2019, although currently located in the Kenilworth suburb of Cape Town, our new office will be right next to the cricket ground in Newlands.
Most of the Industrial Software Domains are covered by huge corporations like SAP and OSIsoft. The race is now on for a software company to become the dominant market leader in the last Industrial Sector … namely the Operations Execution Domain. This is probably the most important of the domains and j5 (through it’s brilliant Cape Town software team) has already become the Technology Leader. Hexagon (a 2 billion dollar company are now funding an aggressive push to make j5 the market leader in this domain.) We need brilliant programmers who can become part of the Cape Town team to meet this exciting challenge. We hope you can join us!
What we do
At j5 Software, we are passionate about software! Our agile teams work together to develop Operations Management and Process Safety software products for the global client base of j5 International (part of Hexagon). Our products are used by some pretty well known clients, including the United Nations, JFK Airport and Anglo American, at hundreds of sites in the industrial world (check out the map on our website to find out more about where our software is used). Every day we get to interact with partners and clients across the globe and engage with leading software technologies. We are about getting the brightest people together to create innovative solutions and break ground in the industrial and software world.
Our Engineering Process
We’d ideally like to hear from people with these skills, but the main thing we’re looking for are great software developers – so even if you’re not an exact match but can bring other relevant skills and experience to the table, then we’d love to hear from you.
Our Hiring Process
Step 1: Receive and review CV , academic transcripts and any other supporting documentation
Step 2: Assessment of candidate
Step 3: The candidate is invited for a first interview, 3 team members (generally HR, Team lead and Tech Lead would be in attendance). The main intention of this interview is to introduce the company in more detail, what we actually do and the company culture. The rest of the interview, we assess the candidate’s technical abilities using a short coding exercise.
Step 4: If the candidate is successful, then we make a written job offer
