Fundamental Software was founded in Cape Town in 2003 and has grown to become South Africa’s leading provider of Investment Management Software. Our clients include some of Africa’s most successful Fund Management, Multi-Management, Unit Trust, Pension Fund, Hedge Fund, Wealth Management and Administration Service Provider Companies. Clients range from large institutions such as Allan Gray, Standard Bank and Sanlam through to niche managers with a combined assets under management in excess of R1.5 trillion managed on our software. We're proudly South African and enjoy competing with large global competitors. We're looking for developers who have an interest in financial markets and the associated complexities and challenges. We are unique in providing an integrated end-to-end (Front-to-Back) Investment Management solution and pride ourselves on providing quality software and services and being highly responsive to the changing needs of our clients.

our development process

We service a precision industry and rely heavily on automated regression testing to mitigate risk of changes in the code base. We use continuous integration with the primary development regression tools being Fitnesse and to a lesser extent NUnit. We also undertake technical performance benchmarking. Outside the dev team, we run functional end-to-end suites (in-house tool) and regression test the UI using appium. We also have a dedicated QA team for manual testing. We use Kanban and have daily standups.
