We're building the largest mobile ad network for emerging markets, think Google DoubleClick or AppNexus for Africa. We do this by integrating our ad servers deep into a telco's core network and aggregating all the mobile ad inventory into a single platform for advertisers to buy.

Our systems need to handle thousands of requests per second with 50-100ms latency, these events are streamed into data pipelines that must process tons of event data that drive our targeting algorithms, campaign analytics and data management platforms. All this data, campaign and user management must be presented in an elegant and intuitive web interface and integrate with other ad tech platforms. All our servers need to run 24/7 and are spread across the globe, some virtual others physical - all need to be monitored and managed. We try automate everything.

Our Engineering Processes

We need to produce quality, mission critical systems and be able to roll updates and fixes anytime of the day, so we implement and release quickly. Our approach definitely follows the agile philosophy although we're not methodology puritans. We have a "you build it, you own it" approach and all engineers get their hands dirty with devops. We're a fan of microservices.
