About Art Meets
What we do
We work in the field of contemporary art. We have been producing creative content in the visual arts industry for 8+ in the form of video, podcasts, programming and art exhibitions. We are now building an app to platform visual artists and connect art professionals, as well as facilitate art tourism and events. Our mission is to create platforms, digital tools and distribution content to connect people through art. We do this through the production of video content, exhibitions, and “art meets” networking and critical discussion events. The Art Meets app aims to allow greater autonomy and expansion for artists to find audiences, buyers, collaborators, resources and community.
Our product
We have received funding to build the Art meets app - a digital platform and infrastructure for an African art ecosystem. The Art Meets app provides independent visibility and networking for artists, art tourism, art meet-ups, connecting people to art and professionalising existing informal networks and services within the visual arts. We have been working towards the app for a few years and have a UX designer already on board working on a prototype. We have a deadline to deliver on our MVP by May 2023.
Why Work For Us
We are a multicultural team working remotely based in South Africa, London and Malawi. We are looking for a full time developer to build the Art Meets app for iOS and Android. We are looking for someone who can take ownership in delivering a mobile app, or working with another developer to do so. We are collaborative and adaptable to different ways of working, as long as the quality is delivered and deadlines are met. We would love to work with someone who has experience specifically working on mobile apps, is a good communicator, manages their own time well, and can get on board with our vision for this platform to build a digital infrastructure and connect people through art.
Our Hiring Process
We are looking to hire someone to start in January on a 6 month contract for the first phase of our project to build the MVP.
