Hellopeter is South Africa’s most trusted review platform; bringing consumers and businesses together to continue their focus on improving customer experiences.
We have created a platform for people to share their experiences, and learn from others to make informed buying decisions.
Originally founded as a complaints platform; Hellopeter has developed into a holistic review management and marketing solution. We provide businesses with a simple and cost effective way to grow their online presence through review collection and social proof.
The transition from complaints platform to holistic review management and marketing is a work in progress, and we’re looking to build the team to help us execute this vision.
While we’re an established brand, we’re a small team with a flat, flexible work environment where everyone’s contribution has a direct impact on our customers. With both B2B and B2C customers, we have exciting product and UX problems to solve.
The current development team is made up of a senior product manager, 5 senior developers (both remote and in-house), and a tester.
UI and UX work is currently outsourced, but we are wanting to bring this in-house.
The developer is experienced in using different tools and languages for web applications. Their experience means they are adept at taking on new languages and tools to produce the best product possible, but also fine with using existing setup if that does the job perfectly well. They are aware of the need for regular communication to ensure shared priorities, validation, and quality control.
We follow a scrum with sprint-driven work and team ceremonies like retros, demos and grooming. Our Git and deployment workflows follow a branch driven approach, with regular code reviews to ensure quality code, and as such quality assurance is owned by the whole team.
As a small team, we are not process or meeting heavy. We are also open to improving and changing any part of our technology stack as long as it can be done without untenable delays to our product roadmap and/or can be shown to improve both the quality and speed of future deployments.
We’ll have an initial conversation, either over the phone or in the office, to meet the candidate and discuss the role.
Depending on the role, this is usually followed up with a technical assessment or business case.
Finally, you’ll have an interview with the team for a culture fit and meet with our CEO.
Whether you're looking for a startup, tech giant or remote opportunity – there's something for everyone.
