Role description
Join Stone Three, one of South Africa's leading industrial IoT firms, as an Implementation & Platform Engineer. We're at the forefront of Industry 4.0, developing AI-augmented solutions in digital productivity, workplace safety, and employee healthcare. With two decades of deep domain expertise and enterprise-level software engineering, we're designing technologies that solve real problems and add genuine value. You'll be based at our Head Office in Somerset West, reporting to the Commissioning and Support Manager. In this role, you'll be responsible for software commissioning and support of our Smart Sensors monitoring mining processes. Your day-to-day will involve installing, testing, and troubleshooting software solutions, calibrating sensor software on-site, and monitoring deployed servers and sensors to ensure high uptime. You'll work with cutting-edge tools including Ansible, Azure IoT, Git, and Docker Containers, while systematically debugging networking issues and creating comprehensive support documentation. Keeping clients informed and satisfied is central to your mission, and you'll collaborate closely with both internal teams and client IT departments. We're looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience in Application Implementation or IT support, comfortable with Linux command line, networking fundamentals, and scripting. You should be familiar with TOML, JSON, and Python config files, with knowledge of cloud IoT technologies like AWS/Azure. Beyond technical skills, we value a strong sense of ownership, excellent communication abilities, and genuine problem-solving prowess.
