Role description
Join our innovative online-focused private tertiary education institution as a Senior Business Analyst, where you'll play a pivotal role in transforming how education is delivered in the South African market. Reporting to the Business Technology and Process Manager, you'll work in a remote-first environment that values flexibility and independence while collaborating across multiple teams including our Projects Office. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in the education sector by bridging business needs with technology solutions. In this hands-on role, you'll be at the heart of digital transformation initiatives, translating business requirements into actionable projects and user stories. You'll work closely with external software vendors, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and support everything from requirements gathering and solution design to testing, UAT coordination, and post-implementation support. Your expertise will drive process re-engineering, system integrations, and workflow optimization while engaging with stakeholders across academic, administrative, and executive teams. You'll also contribute to change management, helping ensure smooth rollouts and strong user adoption. We're looking for a pragmatic all-rounder with 8+ years of business analysis experience who thrives in ambiguous environments and can operate both strategically and tactically. You're highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting. Your strong stakeholder management skills, coupled with hands-on testing and implementation experience, make you the ideal candidate. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, vendor management, or regulated environments would be a bonus, as would familiarity with Agile methodologies. Our Engineering Processes
We are a small IT team, focused on providing exceptional support to the business through bespoke development, integration of products and services, and support of our existing application stack. Each member of the team has a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities. Our dev process is highly agile and very responsive to business needs. We use tools and processes within Visual Studio Team Services to plan, code, integrate and deliver new functionality and resolve issues. In addition to the DEV environment, we maintain a complete UAT environment comprising a fully integrated app stack.
Our Hiring Process
Typically, applicants are required to answer a set of screening questions directly linked to the job requirements of the position. The feedback from the screening questions is used as the first step in our shortlisting process. The hiring manager reviews the shortlist, and then selects applicants who are invited for a panel interview. In some instances, a second interview is arranged if further contact with an applicant is required. Reference checks with previous employers are conducted for applicants who show potential during their interview. This feedback is then assessed along with the interview, in order to select a successful applicant. Once this decision is made, a formal offer of employment is made to the successful applicant.
