Role description
We're seeking a hands-on Lead Developer to spearhead the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of Spendl. As a player-coach, you'll code daily, make key technical decisions, and help build our engineering team. You'll architect scalable backend systems using Node.js and MongoDB, lead DevOps practices on AWS, and work with our front-end team on Vue.js architecture. You'll be responsible for launching and improving high-availability, high-throughput products with proven market fit. We're looking for someone who can leverage AI tools to accelerate development, establish engineering best practices, and set our technical roadmap. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in leadership roles. Join our well-funded, fast-moving crypto startup and shape the future of fintech. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment, with initial onboarding in our Cape Town office and then the option for remote work. You'll report directly to the CEO and have the opportunity to make a significant impact in a rapidly growing field.
