Role description
We're looking for a talented Front-End Software Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. You'll lead the design of modern, user-centric interfaces for our enterprise-grade applications using cutting-edge tools like Figma. Your role will be crucial in bridging the gap between design and implementation, collaborating closely with our backend, product, and QA teams to ensure pixel-perfect execution.
As part of our innovative team, you'll translate conceptual ideas into wireframes and high-fidelity designs, create reusable design components, and even review front-end code. We offer exciting opportunities for growth, including occasional international travel to our U.S. and Indian offices for cross-team collaboration.
We're seeking candidates with a strong background in software UI/UX design, proficiency in front-end technologies, and experience with design tools. If you're passionate about creating intuitive, scalable, and beautiful user interfaces, and have a deep understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript frameworks, and component-based architectures, we'd love to hear from you. Bonus points for knowledge in Linux, Python, or GPT-based interfaces!

Our hiring process:
- Initial screening interview with candidate.

Normally done on Zoom but we prefer to do in person interviews.

This interview involves Kelley (our head of HR) and the team leader for the required position.
- If the interview goes well and we can foresee the candidate joining our team we invite them for an in person interview.
- The candidate sees the office and meets other co-workers.
-The candidate chats to our VP in Cape Town.
- We send the candidate a Test Dome skills test link and Job scorecard.

The Test Dome test is a skills test specifically formulated for the position which allows us to access the candidates skill level as well as their experience level.

The Job scorecard is a list of statements that the candidate rates themself against for us to gain a better understanding of how the candidate sees themself.

The candidate has a week to complete the test and fill out the scorecard.

Based on the candidates skill, experience, skill test results and Job scorecard rating we offer or decline them a position.
