Role description
We're seeking a visionary Senior Developer/Architect to lead our digital transformation at Bidvest SACD, a leading warehousing and logistics provider. You'll spearhead the migration of our in-house line-of-business system from Visual Basic .Net to a cutting-edge C# , .Net Core, and Azure-based architecture. This is your chance to shape the future of our technology stack for the next decade.
As our ideal candidate, you'll bring 10+ years of experience in Microsoft application development, with expertise in C# , .Net Core, Azure, and containerized deployment. You'll guide our team in implementing best practices, automate our build and deploy pipelines, and lead the development of our re-architected applications. Your role will be crucial in modernizing our integrations with mobile applications, handheld devices, EDI systems, and our live-data website.

Our IT Environment
Our bespoke Line Of Business system serves approximately 150 users countrywide, and is developed in-house. We currently use VB.Net and Microsoft SQL Server. The multi-tier .Net Framework application works well - but is aging and needs to be brought up to date (C# , .Net Core, Azure, containerised deployment). We integrate our system with Xamarin and MAUI mobile applications, Handheld devices, EDI with customers and our live-data website. We have a significant base of back-office functionality developed using K2 Workflow and SmartForms (now Nintex Automation).
We are looking for a talented individuals who understand the latest Microsoft application development environment and can help lead us to an architecture that will serve the business for the next decade.
