You’ll play a key role in ensuring our core platform—built on Azure, Kubernetes, and MS SQL—remains resilient, secure, and high-performing at scale.
We operate like a startup: fast-moving, collaborative, and innovation-focused. This is an opportunity to directly influence mission-critical systems within a well-funded, high-growth fintech environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and optimise the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems hosted on Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on Kubernetes and MS SQL Server.
- Lead efforts in monitoring, observability, and incident response, ensuring that systems are fault-tolerant and self-healing.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code across all environments using tools like Terraform or ARM Templates.
- Drive improvements to CI/CD pipelines, reducing time to deploy while increasing release stability.
- Collaborate with DevOps, backend, and security teams to create scalable architecture solutions and robust deployment strategies.
- Define and enforce operational best practices including automated backups, disaster recovery, and performance tuning for Kubernetes clusters and MS SQL databases.
- Proactively mitigate reliability risks and ensure fast recovery from failure scenarios.
- Participate in security posture improvement, including vulnerability scanning, patching, identity & access management, and alignment with standards like ISO 27001, NIST, or PCI-DSS.
- Perform root cause analysis, retrospectives, and continuous improvement on system outages and performance issues.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in site reliability, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, and other key services.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, Helm charts, service mesh (e.g. Istio), and microservices orchestration.
- Expertise in managing and optimising MS SQL Server in production environments.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as ELK, Datadog ,New Relic, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including cloud security, secrets management, least privilege access, and threat detection.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools like Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
- Bonus: Experience working in regulated environments with PCI / ISO27001 / NIST frameworks.
