Job Description:
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) , you will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing cloud-based infrastructure solutions with a strong emphasis on automation and reliability. You will optimise system performance, ensure high availability, and enforce security best practices. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will develop automated workflows, implement monitoring solutions, and troubleshoot system issues. Your expertise in cloud platforms, networking, and infrastructure management will be key in delivering scalable and efficient cloud services. This role is focused on automating infrastructure and operations within an SRE-driven DevOps environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux hosting environments.
- Experience with TCP/IP, virtual networks, network security groups, and DNS administration.
- Expertise in monitoring tools and practices, focusing on early detection of system bottlenecks and anomalies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as TypeScript, YAML, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Experience in server image management and volume snapshots for disaster recovery.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and full SDLC processes.
- Hands-on experience in containerisation and cloud-based container management, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
- Ability to engage with multiple teams to support software delivery and infrastructure needs.
- High degree of accountability, initiative, and adaptability, with a team-oriented approach and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Desired Skills:
- Cloud certifications (IBM, AWS, or Azure).
- Experience with Docker and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, AWS Fargate).
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (AWS, Azure, OpenStack).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Pulumi and Terraform.
