Position Description
This role is essential for ensuring the quality of a client’s custom software projects. You will collaborate closely with a talented and diverse team of software engineers and designers. We are looking for a QA professional who’s hands-on with the latest web technologies and capable of testing and building automation for bespoke software solutions. As the lead QA engineer on multiple projects, you’ll collaborate with developers while taking ownership and driving quality from start to finish.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements review, design review, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospective meetings.
- Execute test cases and test scripts to ensure the products’ functionality, performance, and reliability. This includes both manual and automated testing on multiple projects.
- Perform manual testing on multiple projects.
- Work effectively with development team members, product management, contract staff, and customer engineers to detect defects and solve extremely challenging technical and design problems.
- Occasionally design, create, and maintain automated test projects to verify the performance and functionality of software products and services.
- Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Keep track of testing progress and results.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements and issues.
- Perform testing workload across multiple concurrent projects with different sprint cycles and release deadlines to ensure our products can handle expected user loads and perform optimally.
- Proactively participate in continuously improving QA processes and practices, including suggesting improvements and best practices.
- Manage testing hardware and software assets.
Qualifications and Skills
- Formal tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or the equivalent combination of education and experience.)
- 2+ years of creating & executing automated tests of web and mobile applications
- 3+ years of experience participating in requirements reviews, design reviews, and sprint planning & backlog grooming
- 1+ years of creating & executing manual tests of web and mobile applications
- Thorough understanding of QA processes in an agile development environment
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail, including the ability to interface effectively with external customers
- Ability to successfully multitask and work on multiple projects at once
- Coding experience with JavaScript, CSS, React, Swift, AWS
- Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with complex applications
- Understanding of UI design principles and best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause
