Our mobile app, embraced by over 5000+ Picup Legends in South Africa, is also licensed by businesses to fulfil deliveries with their own fleet.

As an Android Developer at Karooooo Logistics, you wield the power to elevate our services and make a meaningful impact on our esteemed drivers, known as Picup Legends. By building and maintaining versions of our app, licensed across Africa and soon globally, you directly contribute to the success and efficiency of our logistics operations.
What You'll Do
**- Design and Develop: **Create scalable and feature-rich Android mobile applications that revolutionise the logistics landscape.
**- Harness the Power of Data: **Leverage RESTful/JSON services to empower our applications, ensuring data-driven precision.
- Collaboration with UX/UI Designers: Work closely with our design experts to craft user-friendly solutions that set new standards.
**- Lead with Innovation: **Introduce cutting-edge technologies to the team, enhancing the effectiveness and impact of our solutions.
**- Optimisation Expertise: **Dive deep into the technical aspects of mobile application optimisation, refining performance to perfection.
We're Looking for Visionaries Who Can Drive Change - Requirements:
**- Educational Excellence: **Hold a National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 Matric and possess a BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Android Enthusiasm: Demonstrate strong Android development skills, including mastery of asynchronous programming, patterns, threading, and performance tuning.
- **Security Savvy: **Experience working with security best practices.
Kotlin Mastery: Proficiency in the Kotlin programming language and expertise in MVVM architecture.
- Diverse Toolkit: Possess knowledge of Agile development methodologies, distributed source control systems (git), performance/analytics tools for mobile applications, continuous integration (TeamCity/App Centre), unit testing, test-driven development, static code analysis, user-centric design, analytical problem-solving, and creative thinking.
- Dynamic Team Player: Excel in teamwork, coordination, planning, and self-driven execution in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

The environment in the office is one which you should be able to feel comfortable. You can wear what you want and should be able to feel comfortable enough to speak your mind. Engineering Process
Our Dev team work in an agile and collaborative environment. Our processes, from roadmap, involves weekly stand up sessions, iteration sessions, code review, QA and production. The fast-paced environment is both exciting and rewarding as you not only get a lot done but can see the effect that it has on the business very quickly.
Hiring Process
The hiring process will take around two weeks. The initial interview will be with HR and promising prospects will see you coming back and meeting with our CEO, HR and Dev team for the final interview.
