We're offering you the opportunity to become the internal technical authority on a mature PHP platform that powers our Revenue Systems division's consumer-facing and operational products. You'll take ownership of a system currently managed by an external partner, bringing this critical knowledge in-house. This is a significant role where you'll have direct influence over the architecture, reliability, and evolution of a platform deployed across our substantial and growing customer base. You'll lead a structured knowledge transfer, becoming our go-to expert on the entire system. Your day-to-day will involve maintaining platform stability, triaging production incidents, managing updates and security patches, and establishing robust monitoring. As you settle in, you'll move beyond maintenance to actively build new features, working closely with our Product, Project Delivery, and Client Liaison teams to translate business requirements into well-crafted technical solutions. You'll be writing clean, testable PHP code, designing database schemas, and building RESTful API integrations—all while establishing engineering best practices across the codebase. This role offers a clear growth path into technical leadership. As our internal engineering capability expands, you'll contribute to hiring decisions, mentor new team members, and champion engineering excellence across the organisation. You'll play a key part in our strategic objective of owning our core technology platforms and reducing reliance on external partners. We're looking for someone with 5+ years of commercial PHP experience, strong framework knowledge (Laravel or Symfony preferred), and a track record of delivering production systems at scale.
