Role description
Tech Lead
Purpose
Responsible for technical leadership of a team of software developers on projects by instructing, advising, directing and checking the work of team members. Requires full technical knowledge of all necessary phases of projects.
Responsible for designing and implementation of new systems and changes to existing systems and is responsible for the design of relevant databases. Produces logical and technical requirements from functional and non-functional requirements and writes the code for applications.
The incumbent carries out systems analyses, design, coding, program debugging and fault-finding, system testing, security assessments, performance assessments and user interfaces.
Minimum Requirements
- Computer Sciences related degree/diploma; MCSD or another IT related degree/diploma
- 10+ years related experience

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Software development and projects
- Enforce quality of systems across all solutions allocated to the team
- Mentor team members in terms of technology, good practice, system quality and design
- Assist in scheduling and managing tasks and workload of the development team to meet delivery dates
- Analyse, design and implement systems that support the organization's goals
- Assist the Group Enterprise Architect in creating and maintaining baseline applications and architecture
- Assist the Group Enterprise Architect in creating frameworks and standard technologies
- Implement new software and architectures
- Improve current systems, environment and stability in conjunction with the Team/Product Owner/Scrum Master
- Actively participate in building a high-performing team
- Assist in mentoring staff
- Oversee daily operations of development staff
- Assist with the Performance Management of development staff
- Ensure projects are implemented properly with regards to technical design, documentation, development and unit testing
- Manage bugs and production issues until resolved
- Ensure agreed IT strategies are implemented
- Attend to key client needs and attend meetings with BA where required
- Change and Release management
- Ensure applications are configured accurately, securely and in accordance with company standards and industry best practices
- Ensure software modules or solutions can successfully be deployed to the QA, UAT and production environments
- Work closely with IT Operations to ensure seamless releases
- Stay abreast of trends and new movements in the C# and web development landscape

Our hiring process
e4 ensures that every candidate recruited by the company is placed appropriately, spending real-time in matching people to positions. e4 uses various recruitment tools, including Remchannel to benchmark salaries and packages against market information and PI profiling to help match roles correctly.
The first interview is basically a meet and greet session to get a sense of who the candidate is and what their goals are. This can either be at a coffee shop, in office or even over Skype. The second part consists of an aptitude test and technical assessment. Should the candidate pass both sessions we will extend an offer of employment.
