We are building the AI assistant that every golfer has always needed — from scratch, with a small and deeply focused team. Our product helps players at every level understand their game, improve their decisions on the course, and get more out of every round.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who takes pride in writing clean, performant, production-grade systems and who wants to be part of building something genuinely new in a sport loved by millions.

The role

Design, build, and own core backend services and APIs that power our AI assistant at scale.

Work closely with our AI/ML team to turn model outputs/inputs into reliable, low-latency product experiences.

Define and evolve our data models, event pipelines, and caching strategies as the product grows.

Contribute meaningfully to architecture decisions — your voice shapes how we build.

Uphold a culture of code quality, observability, and operational excellence.

Tech stack

Core: Go (Golang), Python, PostgreSQL, Redis

Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, or Helm is a plus — but not a requirement.

What we are looking for

Extensive backend engineering experience, with strong Go expertise in production environments.

Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and data consistency patterns.

Fluency with relational databases, query optimisation, and schema design in PostgreSQL.

Experience with Kafka or similar message queues.

Excellent communication skills — we are a remote team that writes clearly and thinks carefully.

A desire to have impact: you take ownership, raise the bar, and care about what ships.

Bonus points

Experience with backend development in Python.

Hands-on DevOps experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or Helm would be beneficial.

Familiarity with AI coding agents (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools) and integrating them into development workflows.

A genuine passion for golf — understanding the game helps us build for it.
