A leading financial services and retail operations team is building next-generation AI-powered operational capabilities, embedding intelligence directly into retail and contact centre ecosystems. We're seeking a highly technical AI Product Manager with a strong foundation in data science, machine learning, or engineering who has transitioned into product. You'll have deep experience in conversational AI, chatbots, and digital client experience transformation, and you'll be working within an operations-driven AI product team focused on rebuilding how customers interact with retail and banking services through LLMs, automation, and intelligent bots. In this role, you'll own the product lifecycle for AI-driven conversational and automation solutions, building AI-powered conversational banking systems, intelligent chatbots using LLMs, and scalable AI-driven customer experience platforms. You'll translate business and operational needs into AI product requirements, working closely with engineering, data science, and ML teams to deliver production-grade solutions. Your responsibilities include designing and optimising client journeys across retail and contact centre environments, driving adoption of AI tools within operational business units, and monitoring performance metrics like accuracy, containment, and resolution rates. We're looking for someone who started in engineering, data science, or ML and moved into AI product ownership, with strong experience in conversational AI, chatbots, and exposure to LLMs like ChatGPT-style systems. You'll bring experience from call centre, contact centre, or conversational banking environments, with a solid understanding of customer journey mapping and CX design. This is a hybrid role based in Cape Town (Somerset West/Century City), requiring 4 days onsite per week when in office, within a collaboration-heavy environment where you'll work with stakeholders across operations, retail, and digital teams.
