Role description
NYSHEX is the leading digital contracting platform transforming ocean freight, and we're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help us scale our data platform and enable AI-driven innovation. You'll design and build highly scalable data pipelines, architect foundational data systems, and support machine learning and GenAI capabilities while contributing to our backend service layer using Python, and microservices. In this role, you'll build robust data pipelines using Airflow, AWS Glue, and Lambda, develop microservices and data-centric APIs in Java, and design reliable data models to support analytics and AI workloads. You'll collaborate with data scientists to provision training datasets and feature stores, implement data lineage and quality monitoring frameworks, and ensure security compliance aligned with SOC 2 and GDPR standards. You'll also partner across engineering, product, and analytics teams to support cross-cutting data initiatives that integrate unstructured data and enable advanced GenAI capabilities.
