About the Role

We're launching a crypto platform and are looking for a technically versatile Platform Engineer to be our first technical hire. You'll own the reliability, uptime, and operational health of the platform end-to-end, and progressively expand its capabilities as we grow.

This is a high-ownership role. You'll be the person who gets paged when something goes wrong, and the person who ships the additional programs when growth demands it.

What You'll Do

Own platform uptime and reliability - monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-mortems

Manage deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure (cloud infrastructure, containerisation, etc.)

Monitor on-chain activity and maintain integrations with blockchain infrastructure (RPC nodes, indexers, event listeners)

Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, KYC providers, and referral systems

Work closely with the founding team to scope and ship new product features

Maintain and improve the TypeScript orderbook backend and supporting services

Establish operational best practices from the ground up

What We're Looking For

3+ years in a DevOps, Platform, Backend, or full-stack engineering role

Strong experience in modern managed hosting platforms (Vercel, Railway, Render, Fly.io, or equivalent)

Comfortable with TypeScript/Node.js on the backend

Familiarity with Web3 infrastructure and an understanding of how to interact with smart contracts, monitor on-chain events, and work with RPC providers (Alchemy, Infura, etc.)

Experience integrating third-party APIs (payments, auth, analytics)

A self-starter who can operate with management of junior colleagues and owns problems end-to-end

Nice to Have

Solidity experience or smart contract auditing familiarity

Experience with crypto markets, DEXs, or financial infrastructure

Previous experience as an early/first technical hire
