Role description
Do you want to help build a real-time AI platform where voice, chat, tools, and integrations come together?
At OomAgent, you will work on a product where AI assistants do more than just respond; they actively support and execute real business workflows.
You will contribute across multiple layers of the platform: API's, agent logic, real-time interaction, admin tooling, and external integrations.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining product thinking, architecture, and hands-on implementation with a strong interest and knowledge
in all that AI has to offer today, but also tomorrow. Being situated in the Cape Town area is preferred but not obligatory.
What you will do
- Build and improve a scalable platform for AI-driven conversations and workflows
- Develop new features across backend, frontend, and integrations
- Design robust APIs, data models, and real-time user experiences
- Connect external services and business tools in an agent-driven environment
- Help shape architecture, reliability, security, and developer experience
- Collaborate on a product where speed, clarity, and ownership matter
What we are looking for
- Strong full-stack engineering mindset
- Comfortable working on products, not just isolated features
- Experience with asynchronous systems, event-driven flows, and integrations
- Ability to think in modular architecture, scalability, and reusability
- A strong sense for turning technical complexity into clear user value
- Ownership from idea to implementation and iteration
- Clear communication and enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration
