Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that enable reliable analytics, reporting, and data science. This role focuses on transforming raw data into high-quality, trusted datasets that support business decision-making, product development and client reporting.

You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, software engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, secure, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline & Platform Development

• Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines

• Integrate data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, IOTs, applications, files)

• Ensure data reliability, accuracy, and performance across pipelines

• Implement data validation, quality checks, and monitoring

Data Warehousing & Architecture

• Develop and optimize data models in a data warehouse / lakehouse

• Support dimensional and analytical data modelling

• Manage data partitioning, clustering, and performance tuning

• Contribute to overall data architecture and best practices

Cloud & Tooling

• Work with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Leverage modern data tools such as:

• Data warehouses/lakehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks)

• Automate deployments and workflows where possible

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

• Partner with analysts and business teams to understand data needs

• Enable self-service analytics through well-documented datasets

• Provide technical guidance on data usage and limitations

• Support ad-hoc data investigations when required

Governance, Security & Documentation

• Implement data governance, access controls, and security standards

• Maintain clear documentation for pipelines, models, and datasets

• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy requirements

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with SQL (complex queries, optimization)

• Advanced Proficiency in Python (or similar language) for data processing

• Strong experience in modern cloud computing (AWS)

• Experience building production-grade AI ready data pipelines

• Hands-on experience with a cloud data platform

• Familiarity with data modelling concepts

• Experience with Git & CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with Django

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and work with ambiguity

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

• 5+ year’s experience in data engineering or a related role
