Role description
We're building something extraordinary—a brand new AI-First Engineering Unit—and we need a visionary Tech Lead to spearhead this initiative. You'll play a pivotal role in bridging traditional enterprise .NET architecture with cutting-edge AI technologies, leading a talented team of senior engineers while setting the gold standard for how AI agents, MCPs, and automated coding tools are governed and deployed in production environments. This is your chance to shape the future of AI integration in enterprise software. In this role, you'll architect sophisticated AI solutions that seamlessly integrate Agentic AI into robust .NET microservices. You'll mentor and guide your team on AI-First development patterns, establish governance frameworks for prompt engineering and AI instruction files, and evaluate cutting-edge IDE tools and AI orchestration frameworks. From concept to deployment, you'll own the technical delivery of complex greenfield projects while proactively managing risks associated with AI hallucinations, data privacy, and model drift. We offer flexible hybrid and remote working options across Cape Town, Johannesburg, or Port Elizabeth. You'll join us with 8+ years of software engineering experience and expert-level knowledge of C# , .NET Core, and Cloud Architecture. We're looking for someone with proven AI leadership experience, deep competency in MCP and Agentic AI orchestration, and the ability to translate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your expertise will directly shape how enterprise organizations leverage AI in production systems.
