As a MySQL Database Administrator you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of systems.

What will you be doing as a MySQL Database Administrator at Elixirr Digital?

Provide DBA support to our data integration and business intelligence teams

Identify impact on our current code base for DDL schema changes

Configure and maintain database and processes

Monitor system's health and performance

Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security

Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time

Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement

Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities

Competencies and skillset we expect you to have to successfully perform your job:

Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers

Experience with Bash scripting in Linux/Unix environment

Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization

Familiarity with database security best practices

Experience with backup, restore, and high-availability solutions for MySQL

Proficient in Linux system administration and shell scripting

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket)

Bonus points if you have:

Experience with other scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)

Experience handling and analyzing complex scientific datasets

Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS)

Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines

Experience with data integration and/or traditional ETL

Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
