Role description

Join Fresh Projects, a rapidly growing SaaS platform built for professionals in the built environment, as a Product Manager. In this role, you’ll help shape and deliver impactful features for architects, engineers, and project-based businesses.

You’ll work closely with our engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to drive product initiatives from discovery through to delivery, translating customer needs and business goals into clear, actionable requirements.

We’re looking for someone with 3–5 years of product management experience in a SaaS environment who enjoys solving complex problems and collaborating across teams. You’ll own key product initiatives, analyse user behaviour and feedback to inform decisions, contribute to product roadmaps, and support product-led growth initiatives that improve acquisition, engagement, and retention.

At Fresh Projects, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer-centric thinking. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive environment that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning—while helping our customers run better projects, gain clearer financial visibility, and scale their businesses with confidence.

Careers at Fresh Projects

We build thoughtful software for architects and engineers – and we try to be equally thoughtful about the people building it.

Fresh Projects is a remote‑first SaaS company creating tools that help architectural and engineering practices run healthier, more sustainable businesses. That means better visibility of fees, time, resourcing and delivery – and ultimately less stress for the people doing the work. Including us.

We’re a small, close‑knit team, and we care deeply about wellbeing, fulfilment and doing work we’re proud of. Every voice matters here. Every role matters. And the work people do is noticed, valued and celebrated.

If you like solving real problems, working closely with customers, and being treated like a capable adult (rather than managed to death), you’ll probably feel at home here.

What We Do

We build specialist SaaS products for a niche (and fascinating) market: architects and engineers. Our core product, Fresh Projects, is a financial and delivery management platform used by SME architectural and engineering practices. It covers fees, timesheets, expenses, invoicing and reporting – all designed around how AEC firms actually work, not how generic finance tools think they should.

Alongside Fresh Projects, we also build and maintain a digital contracts platform for professional bodies, including RIBA (UK) and RAIC (Canada) and SAIA (South Africa)

Everything we build is customer‑led, practical, and grounded in real-world workflows.

Why Work at Fresh Projects

People come to Fresh Projects because they want meaningful work and a working environment that respects them as humans.

Here, you’ll:

  • Work on real products used daily by thousands of professionals
  • See the full picture – from customer problem to shipped solution
  • Have a genuine say in how things are built and improved
  • Build skills beyond your job title, without burning yourself out

We’re big believers in learning through doing. When things go wrong (and sometimes they do), the response is support and problem‑solving – not micromanagement or blame. We help each other get better, rather than pretending mistakes don’t happen.

There’s also plenty of scope to shape your role over time. As the work evolves, so can your responsibilities and career path – based on your strengths and interests, not a rigid ladder.

How We Work

Remote‑first, but not remote‑only

We’re a remote‑first team, giving you the freedom to work where you do your best work (home, kitchen table, spare room that doubles as a wardrobe – we’ve seen it all). We balance that with regular team meet‑ups, workshops and in‑person sessions to think, plan and build together.

Flexible hours

We trust people to manage their time. As long as the work gets done and the team stays connected, we’re flexible around hours and working patterns.

People first

We believe good products come from healthy, supported teams. That means reasonable expectations, open conversations, and a culture where asking questions and suggesting improvements is encouraged.

Our Culture

Our culture is deliberately human, not performative.

  • People first – wellbeing, flexibility and trust really matter here
  • Customer‑focused – we listen carefully and build with intent
  • Relaxed and friendly – professional, but never corporate
  • Low process, low ego – quick decisions, minimal red tape
  • Collaborative – everyone gets involved, and opinions are welcomed
  • Quality‑driven – we care about building things properly (and sleeping at night)

Good work gets noticed. Wins are shared. And if something misses the mark, we talk about it openly and learn from it – no finger‑pointing, no drama.

Engineering & Product Process

Our delivery approach is pragmatic rather than dogmatic.

  • Continuous releases and regular fixes
  • Two‑week sprints
  • Agile‑lite approach using Shortcut
  • Strong customer feedback loops driving priorities We optimise for shipping useful improvements steadily, not chasing process for its own sake.

Our Hiring Process

We aim to keep hiring straightforward, respectful of your time, and focused on how you actually work.

  1. 30‑minute interview A conversation about your background, experience and what you’re looking for
  2. Practical technical task A small, clearly scoped project that reflects real work – and it’s paid
  3. One‑hour project walkthrough You present your solution, explain your approach, technical decisions and code

We’re interested in how you think, not just the final output.

Interested?

If this sounds like the kind of environment you’d enjoy working in, we’d love to hear from you. Even if you don’t tick every box, we’re always keen to talk to thoughtful people who care about building useful software and working well with others.
