Role description
What you'll do
• Help architect and build a new, high-performance platform from scratch — making the calls on structure, patterns, and tradeoffs that have to scale to 20x.
• Migrate and port proven business logic and quality packages from our current stack without carrying over the cruft.
• Lead and contribute to technical discussions: drive design, weigh in with strong opinions held loosely, raise the bar in code review.
• Build modern, polished UI/UX for the landing-page builder and campaign tooling — frontend craft matters here.
• Use AI and agentic coding as a daily multiplier, and help shape how the whole team works AI-natively.
• Own features end to end, operate under ambiguity, and turn vague goals into shipped systems.
What we're looking for
• Senior full-stack with deep frontend strength — you write excellent React/TypeScript and care about UX, not just APIs.
• Highly proficient in Node and comfortable owning the full stack.
• Strong with event-driven architecture and distributed systems — queues, streams, async workflows.
• Excellent system-design and analytical thinking — you make architectural decisions that hold up at scale and reason from first principles.
• A technical leader who guides discussions, collaborates well, and brings a real sense of ownership.
• Fluent with AI / agentic coding as part of how you build.
• Must-have: a high-quality work sample or prior project we can look at, plus an active GitHub.
Bonus points
• You've built messaging platforms, marketing platforms, or website/landing-page builder apps.
• Experience with Go, edge compute, workflow orchestration (e.g. Temporal), Kafka, or feature stores.
• Track record of taking a product from early scale to serious scale.
Our stack & direction
Today: TypeScript/Node across the stack. Where we're headed: AI-native platform unification, Go for hot-path services, an event-driven backbone, edge-served personalized landing pages, and an LLM gateway with Anthropic as primary. You'll have real influence over how this gets built.

Our platform allows clients to send millions of tailored campaign variations that drive superior conversion rates when compared to email and regular SMS marketing.
Although we consider ourselves a start-up, Mobiz is already a market leader in South Africa with many well-established enterprise clients. While we have plenty of room to grow locally, we are expanding our footprint in the United States (having built a US biz dev team and acquired our 1st US client), and have been part of the Alchemist Accelerator (the leading B2B accelerator in the San Francisco Bay area) which has greatly assisted in our US expansion.
Our Hiring Process
1. Introductory Interview Where the team will get to know you a little bit more and ask you some technical (but theoretical) questions to gauge your level of technical expertise.
2. Technical Interview A live coding session where the team will present you with a challenge for you to start.
3. Psychometric Assessments and References Lastly, we'll hand you over to our People Team to complete some psychometric assessments and do reference checks.
