Our purpose is to create the best possible experiences for delegates and organisers using specialised tool to help make event organisers lives easier. The events industry is fast-paced and provides a dynamic environment for self-driven people to perform at their best. As a specialist in this field IT Event Management is passionate about innovating to create meaningful value to all users. ITEM as we are known in the industry was established in 2002. We proudly serve industry leading clients in Technology, Finance, Medical and Tourism fields. Notable and long-term clients include Vodacom, Microsoft, South African Tourism, Liberty Group, PSG Group, Investec, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Messe Frankfurt, RX Exhibitions and many others. ITEM Software currently drives huge events for example The Tourism Indaba, World Travel Market SA, Magical Kenya Exhibition and more. We also provide solutions over 200 smaller corporate events and roadshows per year.

The Company has 3 main departments – Software Development, Onsite Exhibitions and Events, and Supporting Call Centre

The Software Development Division is split in 2 teams Focusing on Events and Exhibitions product. Each Team is led by a director in the firm with the help of a senior dev in role of a manager. The teams work remotely with daily stand-ups in discord to co-ordinate and plan delivery. We are looking to grow this department to more than 10 members in the next 2 years.

• Develop, test, and maintain the deployed application software with high quality • Analyze, maintain and enhance existing application and troubleshoot issues with efficiency • Perform accurate development estimation • Produce technical specifications and designs. • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Self-starter who takes ownership, is accountable, and can work under minimum supervision • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Can help with quality assurance and provide comments • Present to senior stakeholders • Offer support and guidance to peers • Perform analysis at a strategic level and understand principles of business, technical and enterprise architecture
