Role description
At Pollinate, we’re expanding our Development team in Cape Town, South Africa, and we’re excited to welcome both graduates and experienced engineers to be part of this journey.
Our core tech stack includes Java, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure, and we’re looking for engineers who enjoy building scalable, resilient, product-driven solutions. Experience in a fintech or fast-paced product start-up environment is a strong advantage, especially if you’ve worked on consumer-focused platforms and distributed microservice architectures.
We’re looking for people who:
- Take true ownership from start to finish and see work through with pride.
- Communicate clearly and confidently in written and spoken English.
- Thrive in fast-moving, less structured environments and are comfortable with ambiguity.
- Work collaboratively across teams — partnering closely with product owners, designers, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers.
- Are passionate about mentorship and knowledge sharing, helping grow junior engineers and strengthen the wider engineering culture.
- Build strong, trusted relationships and positively influence both technical and product decisions.
