About the Role
The Platform Data Engineer will:
- Contribute to the design and development of new applications/systems to meet business requirements of the data platform environment.
- Analyse business or system requirements and build/enhance data platforms.
- Participate in and provide input to the Architect during the compilation of solution design documentation for new and existing data platforms.
Education (Minimum)
- A relevant degree in Information Technology or Data Analysis
Minimum Experience
- 3–5 years’ proven experience in:
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Data warehousing
- Data transformation information systems
- Data storage and access technologies
- Testing methodologies
- Mentorship and quality assuring work of others
Proficiency in
- AWS (cloud environment)
- Python
- SQL
- Postgres
Knowledge
- IT systems development processes (SDLC)
- Data pipelines
- Relational database systems and/or cloud data warehousing and/or big data frameworks
- Dimensional modelling
- Standards and governance
- Testing practices
- People leadership practices and principles
- Quality assurance practices and processes
Ideal Experience
- Working in AWS and with AWS Technologies and Azure
- Orchestration technologies
- Data modelling
Ideal Knowledge
- Data architecture (technical design and implementation processes)
- Banking systems environment
- Banking business model
- Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)
