Role description
Do you have a passion for creating user-centred experiences and a strong foundation in UX and UI design? Are you looking to grow into a product-thinking designer while making an impact across digital platforms? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are seeking a motivated and capable intermediate to senior UX/UI Designer to join our team and help shape the user experience and visual design of our digital products. Based full-time, and possibly hybrid, in our Kempton Park office, this is an excellent opportunity to work on impactful projects while evolving your skillset toward product design.
About Renati Software Services
Renati Software Services is a leader in innovative technology solutions and is part of the larger Renati Group. For this role, you will be hired as part of Renati Software, but working on the TFN projects. TFN is another company within the larger Renati Group, and currently one of the fastest growing companies in Africa.
Open Community, Focussed Approach
Why it is advantageous being hired within Renati Software and working with TFN...
Within Renati Software there are multiple developers, testers, designers, and product owners working on a range of different products, projects, teams and stakeholders. This is great, as you will be connected to a community of technical people whom you can lean on in terms of support and growth.
At the same time, we all know it is impossible to work on all products and projects at the same time. Working with TFN will still provide you with opportunities to improve designs and experiences for multiple offerings, but give you clear focus.
Working Surface
As a designer, you will work closely with the TFN Product Manager to align in terms of priorities, requirements, and the overall product vision for TFN. You will also work with our UX lead in Renati Software in terms of UX guidance and career development support. You will of course also work closely with the engineering team, QA, and internal stakeholders of TFN.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to and maintain our design system, including components, styles, tokens, and documentation in Figma.
- Collaborate closely with developers (especially Flutter teams) to ensure designs are implemented accurately and consistently.
- Conduct user research (e.g., interviews, usability testing) to inform UX decisions and feature prioritisation.
- Create UX artefacts such as personas, journey maps, wireframes, and clickable prototypes.
- Design and iterate on user interfaces across mobile and web platforms with an emphasis on usability and visual clarity.
- Ensure consistent and accessible UI design patterns that scale across projects.
- Participate in agile development cycles, collaborating with specialists in product, sales, customer experience, engineering and marketing.
- Stay up to date with UX/UI design trends and best practices and implement where appropriate.
Participate in design critiques and performance reviews with constructive input.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Information Design, UX Design, Interaction Design, Multimedia, HCI, or similar field.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably with some cross-platform experience.
- Proficiency in Figma, including component libraries and use of variables and tokens.
- Experience designing for responsive interfaces.
- Familiarity with design systems and developer handoff best practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working on multiple concurrent tasks.
Day-to-Day
You may do these things as part of your day:
- Participate in daily stand-ups and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze user behavior and feedback to refine design decisions.
- Develop and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs.
- Engage in UX research activities such as usability testing and data analysis.
- Ensure that designs align with technical feasibility and business objectives.
