Role description
General duties:
• Creates and maintains code that meets design specifications, follows standards, is easy to maintain and is reasonably free from defects;
• Provides maintenance, improvement and production support for existing applications;
• Participates in design sessions to understand the business requirement and solution to be delivered;
• Assists the Business analyst with creating project plans and estimating task durations;
• Communicates with other Developers, the Integration Manager and Business Analysts on product issues;
• Works with Testing team to ensure that the project is accurately tested;
• Effective database development
• Effective trouble shooting
• Effective custom development
• Effective product development
• Adequate CVS knowledge
• Timeously completing CVS tasks
Database Development
• Working with all aspects of database design, development and maintenance.
• Writing and execution of scripts on databases.
Product Development
• Designing and maintaining both new and existing applications.
• Preparing technical documentation of products and source code, both internally and externally.
Custom Development
• Development of custom software for specific client projects.
• Integration of custom-developed software into the ICE Application Platform.
• Assistance with specifying of custom requirements, including estimates for costing purposes.
• Preparation of technical and handover documentation as required by the customer on developed modules.
Web Services
• Familiar with web service protocols (SOAP, WSDL, etc.)
• Familiar with web service frameworks (Java, PHP, Perl, C++) An Advantage
Campaign Development
HTML Mail Campaigns
• · Update images that might need updating with Photoshop
• · Update copy in Text file with new copy from client
• · Create PHP landing pages if required
• · Track links on the ICE Platform via Tracker
• · Copy a previous template from fileserver to use for the layout (HTML file and Text file)
• · Paste the template on fileserver in a new folder using the correct folder structure
• · Update copy in HTML code with new copy from client
• · Add HTML, Text and all images used into a zip file
• · Upload the zip file to the ICE platform
• · Go through the platform setting up the campaign
• Upload a test database to the ICE Platform
• Send tests via the platform to yourself and correct any errors if needed
• Send tests via the platform to internal test recipients
• Make copy or image changes if needed from Traffic
• Send tests external to Client
• Make copy or image changes if needed from Client
• Upload Live database onto the ICE Platform
• Create an online version of the email in PHP
Send the PHP and images to the Technical Team Lead to upload onto the relevant server (images, HTML, etc.)

Candidate profile:
• 5 -7 years’ experience within a similar position
• Strong technical skills
• Excellent time management ability
