Senior Software Engineer- Remote First

We’re looking for highly experienced Software Engineers to work with us at a senior level (8+ Years experience)
We value our network of Software Engineers for designing and delivering solutions that meet business requirements, and improve the effectiveness of our customers’ software delivery capability. They work with delivery teams in a consultative, collaborative way - in keeping with our values.
**About the work
On an Equal Experts project, you’ll use your proven expertise to:**
- work with the customer and your team to determine system requirements, and how best to deliver them
- deliver software using modern agile technical practices, like CI/CD, TDD and pair programming
- automate system infrastructure and deployments
- provide production support for systems you’re working on, using a ‘you build it, you run it’ approach
- advocate agile practices to the customer’s organisation
- help improve delivery capabilities for your team and the customer
**What we need from you
Your significant technical skills and experience will include:**
- Extensive, diversified experience developing, maintaining and operating enterprise-scale distributed systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Scala or C# and the associated tooling.
- Experience with other languages is highly desirable.
- A passion for technology and a willingness to move between languages and technology stacks.
- Hands-on experience with test driven development and other forms of automated testing.
- Strong understanding of the principles underlying agile development and an understanding of the various approaches that can be effective in realising these principles in different contexts.
- Hands-on experience developing distributed systems including microservice architectures and RESTful services.
- Hands-on experience developing and running large scale production systems ideally in containerised/cloud environments using either AWS, GCP or Azure
