TooMuchWifi delivers premium internet affordably to low income populations in developing

economies; our initial market focus is the urban informal settlements surrounding Cape

Town and Johannesburg.

We’re not a traditional “low-cost internet provider” - this isn’t about internet handouts, limited

bandwidth, bad user experiences or walled gardens. It’s the internet, delivered fast: just the

way you’d want it delivered to you, with world class customer service and a deep sense of

accountability.

TooMuchWifi was founded by people passionate about technology and social justice with a

global track record of delivering services and technologies to new markets and a shared

mission for bridging the digital divide across the world.

Over the last few years we’ve built a platform (Django + GCP + Postgres etc) that runs most

aspects of the business from customer service ticketing, sales management, to realtime

network monitoring. We are now looking to add a fourth developer to the team, with an initial

focus of working closely with our operations team to build tooling to increase the efficiency

of our marketing, field operations, reporting and analytics.

**The ideal candidate will be proficient in Django, but a strong Python background would

obviously be acceptable.** We’re good teachers. We’re a very flat team, so you’ll be expected to

interact with various business units, guide them with developing great functional specs, and

then build those features to help make the business more successful, solve problems etc.

There will be some customer-facing front end work that needs to be done, so it’ll be great if

you know how to make things look great.

While we’re no longer a “startup”, we do operate much like one. The code you write will be

used by thousands of users the minute it’s pushed to production. You’ll be solving real

problems and helping us on our mission to get affordable internet into every home in South

Africa.
