Role description

Data Engineer- Remote First

We’re looking for highly experienced Data Engineers to work with us at a senior level (8+ Years experience)

We value our network of Data Engineers for their skill in creating data pipelines for ingest, transformation and storage of data - usually at scale. They use modern agile technical practices to deliver timely and pragmatic solutions. And their collaborative approach helps others to do their jobs in a more effective way.

**About the work

On an Equal Experts project, you’ll use your proven expertise to:**

  1. Work with your team to determine our customer’s data processing and access needs, then recommend the best solutions
  1. Create and support highly available data pipelines and storage solutions, including data warehouses
  1. Deliver software using modern agile technical practices, including CI/CD, TDD and XP

stand up analytics clusters

  1. Automate data infrastructure and deployments
  1. Advocate agile practices to the customer’s organization
  1. Mentor the customer’s team, and improve their data capabilities

What we need from you

You may need security clearance for UK-based roles.

Your significant technical skills and experience will include:

  1. working on data pipelines, platforms and projects
  1. developing solutions in one or more of the main cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP and Azure
  1. a background in at least one programming language, preferably Python
  1. working with a variety of databases, data warehouses and distributed file systems in production environments
  1. SQL and data modelling
  1. data processing at scale
  1. knowledge of GDPR and data security
  1. working with source control and infrastructure as code (for example Git/Github, Terraform and Ansible), as well as CI/CD tools

understanding and supporting the needs of data scientists or business intelligence teams with data preparation and mentoring

  1. The ability to communicate effectively while working remotely with globally distributed teams
