Role description
Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer whose gravitational centre is CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, observability, and developer experience — but who understands the applications being deployed because you build them too. You will own the platform that our entire product suite runs on: the pipelines that deliver code to production, the infrastructure that keeps it running, the observability that tells us what is happening before users notice, and the tooling that makes every other engineer on the team faster. You will work across our APEX Suite — a unified enterprise intelligence platform serving agriculture, mining, retail, banking, and international cooperatives.
At Reisiger, every engineer operates with extreme ownership: you do not throw code over a wall to an ops team — you are the ops team, and you are also a developer who ships features. We are architecture-agnostic — AWS is our primary cloud today, but you design for portability and evaluate alternatives honestly. And we are AI-native — Claude Code orchestrates infrastructure audits, compliance checks, multi-agent governance workflows, and automated operational tasks daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that take code from commit to production across multiple products — with automated testing gates, environment promotion, and rollback capability
- Build and operate AWS infrastructure — ECS Fargate, Lambda, RDS, S3, EventBridge, API Gateway, CloudFront, and supporting services
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform and/or CDK) for repeatable, auditable, reviewable deployments across a multi-account AWS organisation
- Architect cross-account security patterns — OIDC-based deployment from GitHub Actions, IAM role chains, secrets management with no credentials in code
- Build internal platform tooling — developer environments, deployment dashboards, secret rotation automation, environment provisioning
- Establish and maintain production observability — structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics collection, alerting thresholds, and incident response runbooks
- Design multi-tenant infrastructure isolation — per-client resource boundaries, cost allocation tagging, scaling policies that respond to tenant load patterns
- Contribute fullstack features to the platform — client billing, usage metering, internal operational dashboards, and self-service tooling
- Orchestrate multi-agent Claude Code workflows for infrastructure audits, compliance verification, drift detection, and automated governance checks
- Own infrastructure cost as a product metric — monitor spend, identify waste, right-size resources, and present cost trade-offs to the team
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years focused on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and platform engineering
- Deep AWS experience — ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS (PostgreSQL), IAM, VPC networking, CloudFormation or CDK, S3, EventBridge, API Gateway
- Expert CI/CD skills — GitHub Actions (our primary), multi-environment promotion strategies, automated test gates, OIDC-based cloud deployment
- Strong infrastructure as code proficiency — Terraform and/or AWS CDK, with proper state management, modularisation, and drift detection
- Container expertise — Docker multi-stage builds, ECS task definitions, service discovery, health checks, rolling deployments
- Proficiency in at least one application language (TypeScript/Node.js or Python) sufficient to build and ship production features, not just scripts
- Experience with secrets management architecture — AWS Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, cross-account access patterns, rotation automation
- Understanding of networking — VPC design, security groups, load balancer configuration, DNS management (Route 53, Cloudflare)
- Active daily use of AI-assisted tooling for infrastructure management — IaC generation, configuration auditing, operational automation
- Experience with cost optimisation — Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, right-sizing analysis, cost allocation tagging strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-account AWS Organisations — Control Tower, SCPs, cross-account role assumption patterns
- Knowledge of GitOps workflows and infrastructure deployment patterns beyond basic CI/CD
- Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) as a complement to serverless/Fargate architectures
- Familiarity with compliance-as-code — automated ISO 27001 control verification, audit trail generation, policy enforcement
- Experience building developer portals or internal platform abstractions (Backstage or custom)
- Knowledge of edge computing and CDN configuration (CloudFront, Cloudflare Workers)
- Experience with database administration at the infrastructure level — RDS provisioning, replication, backup automation, failover testing
- Understanding of FinOps practices and cloud cost governance frameworks
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer, or Security Specialty)
- Experience operating infrastructure for multi-tenant SaaS products in regulated industries
