Strategic Leadership & Team Building

Recruitment and Development: Actively participate in the hiring, mentoring, and professional development of our Data Scientists and Data Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Vision & Strategy: Help define the long-term technical roadmap and architecture for our Data Science, AI, and Data Engineering capabilities, ensuring alignment with overall business goals to enable delivery of value to our customers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with our product, engineering, and business stakeholders across various projects to help drive the successful definition and deployment of data and AI solutions.

Competency & Certification Drive: Continuously drive for professional certification for yourself across relevant data, AI, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure, Kubernetes, etc.).

Technical Direction & Architecture

Solution Architecture: Collaborate with the design and implementation of innovative, robust, scalable, and production-ready data pipelines, machine learning models, and end-to-end AI applications.

Technology Stack: Collaborate with the team on the selection and standardisation of core data and AI technology stack, with a focus on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerisation (Kubernetes/Docker), and modern database technologies.

Quality & Standards: Refine and drive the establishment of best practices for MLOps, code quality, testing, security, and governance to ensure reliable and compliant data products.

Driving Innovation & Impact

Customer-Centric Solutioning: Translate complex business requirements and customer challenges into simple, impactful data and AI solutions. Ensure solutions clearly address the customer's needs and wants, promoting ease of understanding and adoption.

Strategic Reusability: Design innovative solutions with a focus on modularity and generalisation, enabling the successful frameworks to be rapidly deployed and tailored for new clients across diverse sectors (e.g., financial services, marketing, logistics, retail, etc.).

Advanced Modeling: Actively research, prototype, and deploy innovative and complex data science models, including advanced Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and specialized AI agents.

Performance and Sustainability Assurance: Design, implement and ensure data infrastructure and deployed models to ensure optimal performance, high efficiency, and robust cost-effectiveness prior to handover. Establish clear metrics and documentation for the client's sustained success.

What We're Looking For (Essential Skills)

Deep Technical Acumen: Expert-level proficiency with significant experience in designing and implementing innovative solutions on major Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI).

Scalable Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with technologies critical for scalability, such as Kubernetes, distributed computing frameworks and modern data warehousing/vector databases.

End-to-End Delivery: A clear track record of successfully taking machine learning models and data products from research/proof-of-concept through to live, production deployment.

Stakeholder Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
