Our engineering environment

We work fast and agile with teams aligned around specific projects. We believe in buy-in from the engineers to ensure a solid understanding of the 'why' of the business requirements.

Our micro-service platform is built using Python and is entirely hosted in AWS. Elastic scalability ensures we are able to dynamically scale to meet the peaks of demand. Our stack includes EC2, ECS, Elastic Search, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, Aurora PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker, S3, Cloudwatch, Cloudfront and Lambdas

Our app is one of the most downloaded in South Africa and we build natively for iOS and Android. Our web platforms are built using Angular and Node.

We work in a *nix based environment using open source technologies and tools like: Slack, Github, Google Docs, Jira, CircleCI, PyCharm and WebStorm or whatever IDE you prefer.

Our hiring process

• Telephone Interview - 30 minute phone conversation with someone from engineering leadership.
• Small technical test - Online technical test relevant to the role and requirements.
• 1st round Face to Face - Interview conducted by an engineering leader, along with a senior engineer.
• 2nd Round Face to Face - Culture fit interview, most likely conducted with staff from other teams and our CEO.
