MetroFibre Networx is a carrier class Ethernet (CE 2.0) infrastructure company, that today provides highly managed fibre optic broadband connectivity in South Africa.

The MetroFibre Networx services offerings extend: High Speed Broadband Network Connectivity (up to 10Gbps), Voice Over IP (Telephone, PBX), Video Conferencing, Data (VPN), Off-site Data Recovery/Data-Backup, Email/Application Hosting, Cloud Computing, Internet and CCTV Security Monitoring, all of which is delivered on the back of a single MetroFibre Networx fibre Installation.

Established in 2010, MetroFibre Networx is a South African owned and managed open access fibre network and broadband fibre provider, based in Gauteng. Today MetroFibre owns and manages South Africa’s first globally compliant Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0) open access fibre network, over which it connects in excess of 60 cloud, application, voice and Internet Service Providers with their customers. The company enjoys active shareholding and board representation from Sanlam Private Equity (SPE), which invested in the company in 2013 to grow its own fibre network.
The MetroFibre leadership team consists of Executive Chairman and CEO Steve Booysen, formerly CEO at ABSA Bank, founding member Eugene Slabbert Head of Network Planning and Project Management, as well as Financial Director and Operations Hendrik Opperman, Head of Wholesale Sales Gary Webster, Head of FTTH Sales Jacques de Villiers, Chief Brand Officer Liza Kok and Head of Human Resources Ntsiki Ntuli.
MetroFibre Networx is a MEF Forum member and is licensed by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to provide electronic communications services as well as electronic communications network services.
