We're a little different. And a lot of fun. The most famous safari company you've (probably) never heard of. We are not your bog-standard operator, and we love to use copywriting to reflect our unique, playful, fun (and cheeky) nature.
We see lu*ury differently, too.
For us, It's about the stars above you, not just the ones on the door. At Hidden Africa, lu*ury is mostly about the experience, and experience is everything.

Unsurprisingly, our copywriting is littered with inspirational storytelling, building on the transformative power of getting away from it all. Hence, we say, Go somewhere, DIFFERENT. A unique Brand Voice that stands out from the crowd, with an attitude that says, 'We're anything but ordinary!'
# Why Work For Us
We're wildly excited (pun intended, obviously) about the possibility of working together. We are an exciting start-up with a big purpose and our tourism efforts support conservation and communities within Africa. Without tourism there would be far few wild places left in Africa, its that simple. Hidden Africa is looking to build a digital marketing and Web dev team, starting with freelance individuals who can eventually become full time.

Tech Stack / Requirements:
The site used Posts, Pages, Custom Post Types and Custom Taxonomies using a custom built theme to query and display data. It does not use any Block Editor functionality at present and relies on Classic Editor and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) Pro for data. Posts, Pages and CPTs use ACF Pro Flexible Layouts in combination with other ACF group types. Experience using ACF Pro and how to write, query and output ACF data in PHP using if/else and switch statements. Experience with template files, template hierarchy, template parts and template partials. i.e developing and maintaining a custom WordPress theme using ACF API best practices. Debug, maintain and write custom CSS and jQuery. Compiling and minifying CSS/JS. Knowledge and experience of the Gravity Forms ecosystem. Knowledge of SEO and best practices. Optimising and documenting performance enhancements via plugin experimentation, enqueueing/dequeueing scripts, image optimisation and PHP/CSS/JS code optimisation/refactoring. Comfortable working with a local staging environment e.g Local and pushing/pulling files/db to staging and live on Flywheel.
